"It is very odd but nothing in the whole year gives me so much pleasure as my few days at Cowes, I feel quite different and so happy......there is something so exhilarating about the elements, the sea & the wind & the sun and one feels far away from the horrors of modern civilisation with its noise and eternal hurry."
HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother (as Duchess of York) writing to HM King George V - 6th August 1934
Description about local area:
Situated in the centre of the High Street of this busy sailing town often called the Mecca of world yachting, our office is in the sought after 'Old Town' and is only a short walk from the Red Jet high speed passenger ferry (22 mins) to Southampton. There are many hostelries, Yacht Clubs and restaurants close by. The busy High Steet means that many passers buy view our properties and call in to discuss their requirements, perhaps walking between the Royal Yacht Squadron and the ferry.
